Relative Strength: A Cornerstone of Technical Analysis
March 26, 2015
In this session, Tom will discuss his market perspective and process that helped him build a six billion dollar asset management firm. Dorsey Wright and Associates (DWA) have always focused on the price of a security because it is the ultimate supply and demand in the marketplace. Using tools such as relative strength and point and figure charting, Tom will show how to cut through the clutter of day-to-day market action, identifying meaningful patterns in daily share price movements. These can be applied at the country, sector, or individual share level, and across a variety of asset classes.
DWA utilize primary market indicators to get a measure of overall risk, and then analyze broad industry sectors to determine which are in favor. The goal, always, is to manage risk and concentrate investments in those areas of the market controlled by demand where there are the highest probabilities of future outperformance.
