CMT Association Announces Partnership with Bayes Business School

The CMT Association is proud to announce its new partnership with Bayes Business School, City, University of London, through Bayes’ inclusion in the CMT Association’s Academic Partner Program.

Selection for the CMT Association’s Academic Partner Program signifies a strong commitment to students’ career readiness and applied learning. Institutions in the Academic Partner Program demonstrate academic rigor in financial courses ranging from quantitative methodologies to behavioral finance, as well as portfolio management and other key aspects of technical analysis.

Technical analysis, which is a crucial part of investment and trading decisions, has evolved over hundreds of years. While modern technical analysis retains its roots in classical observations of market behavior, it extends beyond pattern recognition to employ groundbreaking quantitative methodologies and rules-based trading-system design and testing.

The challenge in teaching Technical Analysis within a university environment is keeping up with, and bridging the gap between, the ever-evolving activities of practitioners, and the ever-evolving academic theories of market structure and performance. The CMT, with its clear-eyed approach to the subject, has been an invaluable resource along the way. It is very exciting – for myself and my students – now to have their recognition, and this formal relationship in place.” Roy Batchelor, Professor Emeritus, Bayes Business School.

“Bayes Business School has long been a pioneered finance education in the United Kingdom. Joining our Academic Partner Program underscores Bayes’s commitment to equipping their students with technical analysis. This gives young finance professionals not only a critical career skill in alpha capture role, but also a life skill as they navigate the journey of managing their personal wealth. Participation in the program also creates an opportunity for academic research in technical analysis by the robust research department at Bayes” – Joel Pannikot, Head: Asia Pacific, CMT Association.
