The global economy appears to be accelerating into a new paradigm, as financial and geopolitical tensions fill our headlines, the long-term implications of which are still yet to be fully understood or priced in, Sunil maintains an objective evidence-based approach to markets. Technical analysis shines in periods of market adversity and volatility. The discipline forged by studying market cycles, human behavior, and the irrefutable laws of supply and demand are an investor’s best weapon for uncertain times.

Sunil’s team leverages many quantitative methods and classical tools in their research process which he will share in this educational session focused on current market dynamics.

6:30pm Nicholas Khan-Roper, Chartered FCSI – Tactical Tools for Long-Term Investors

Nicholas Khan-Roper Chartered FCSI is the Chief Investment Officer and Head of Wealth Management who employs technical analysis for both risk management and capturing alpha. In this session, Nick will share his process for running multi-asset portfolios and the various methods and tools that investors could incorporate into their own investment process.

As a discipline, technical analysis is applicable across all asset classes and all timeframes. For example, long-term investors could implement some of the tactical strategies detailed in the CMT Program for profit-taking, incremental stop losses, or employing various momentum studies for entry/exit rules. Nick will also discuss how the CISI’s Private Client Investment Advice and Management (PCIAM) level 6 and Chartered Fellowship of the CISI has assisted him in his previous and current roles, how understanding the principles of private client investment within the context of the current regulatory environment is important within planning, asset allocation and structuring and how to identify the investment requirements of clients needs.
