Quantamentals – Combining Technical and Fundamental Analysis in a Quantitative Framework for Better Investment Results
Fundamental and Technical analysis is often thought of as separate, competing ideologies. We regard this world view as short-sighted. Our research shows that combining fundamental and technical analysis in a quantitative, rules-based framework leads to greatly improved performance.
We will share some of our recent research, which shows that harvesting known factors, whether of the fundamental or technical variety, offers significant benefits and leads to market-beating performance over the last 16+ years. Furthermore, we will speak to some of the topics in our new book, The Alpha Formula – Beating the Market with Significantly Less Risk. Specifically, we will cover First Principle thinking as it applies to portfolio management and rooting your systematic strategies in known behavioral biases of investors, which leads to sustainable Alpha.
