Alec Taylor

In Memoriam 1920 - 2008

Born in Crewe, England, son of Jack Taylor and Mary Alice Knowles, and younger brother of Jack (all deceased).

Settled in St. Thomas, ON, in 1922, attending Manitoba Street Public School, Arthur Voaden Vocational School, and St. Thomas Collegiate Institute.

Joined the Army in 1939, serving in Ottawa (Defense Signals Directorate), at Camp Petawawa, and overseas.

Married Eulaline Campbell on January 19, 1945.

Earned B.Comm. (U. of Western Ontario, 1950), B.Paed. (Ontario College of Education, 1951), and M.Ed. (U. of Toronto, 1959) degrees. Held teaching positions at Uxbridge High School and Weston Collegiate and Vocational School, and was Principal of Bradford District High School.

Author of Debit Equals Credit (W.J. Gage, 1962). Retired 1978; member, North York chapter of Superannuated Teachers of Ontario; associate member, Canadian Society of Technical Analysts.

Survived by wife Eulaline Mary Taylor, daughter Robin Taylor Roth, 6 nieces and nephews, and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
