Fred Schutzman heads the technical research and development team at Briarwood Capital Management. He also oversees the programming of Briarwood’s proprietary trading systems. He has designed over 100 proprietary profitable trading systems since 1988; today, Fred continues to refine those models and research new models at Briarwood.
Fred hold the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation, and has been a member of the CMT Association since 1985. Prior to joining Briarwood, he served as portfolio manager for Pressprich Capital Management LLC. He has lectured around the world on the subject of technical analysis and has appeared numerous times as a guest on CNBC. He is a contributing author to the text Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets, by John J Murphy, CMT. Fred graduated Valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude from The College of Insurance (now The School of Risk Management at St. John’s University) in 1986.
