John Nofsinger, PhD

Dr. John Nofsinger is the William H. Seward Endowed Chair in International Finance at the College of Business & Public Policy, University of Alaska Anchorage. He is one of the world’s leading experts in behavioral finance.

Professor Nofsinger has authored/coauthored fourteen finance trade books, textbooks, and scholarly books that have been translated into eleven languages (Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese). The 6th edition of his book, The Psychology of Investing, is popular with investment advisors and is a frequent speaker on this topic, presenting over 50 times at practitioner associations, industry conferences, businesses, and individual investor associations.

John is a prolific scholar who has published in multiple disciplines. He has published 73 articles in prestigious scholarly journals and practitioner journals. He is most widely known in behavioral finance and has recently been working in the biology of finance and socially responsible finance.
