Dr. Madhu Veeraraghavan

Professor Madhu Veeraraghavan is the Director and T.A. Pai Chair Professor of Finance at TAPMI, Manipal.
He joined TAPMI in June 2013 and took over as the Director in April 2017.  Prior to joining TAPMI, Professor Veeraraghavan was a Professor of Finance (with tenure) and Head of Finance Department at Monash University, Melbourne.  He has also held teaching and research positions at The University of Auckland Business School, Auckland, New Zealand.

Professor Veeraraghavan has published over 60 papers in international journals and has presented his work in top conferences in finance and accounting. His work has appeared in The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, AUDITING: A Journal of Practice and Theory,  and Journal of Management.

His research interests are in the areas of Corporate Finance, Behavioural Finance and the interplay between Auditing and Finance.  He has won numerous awards including the MIT Sloan Best Paper Award at the Asia Conference in Accounting, held in Shanghai.  He is a recipient of the Vice-Chancellors Gold Medal for Teaching Excellence at Monash University.
