Dr. Wesley Gray is the founder and CEO of Alpha Architect, a firm he started in 2008 after earning his Ph.D. and spending several years as a finance professor at Drexel University.
Previously, Dr. Gray served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. His interest in bridging the research gap between academia and industry led him to found Alpha Architect, an asset management firm that delivers affordable active exposures for tax-sensitive investors.
Dr. Gray has published four books: EMBEDDED: A Marine Corps Adviser Inside the Iraqi Army, Quantitative Value: A Practitioner’s Guide to Automating Intelligent Investment and Eliminating Behavioral Errors, DIY Financial Advisor: A Simple Solution to Build and Protect Your Wealth and Quantitative Momentum: A Practitioner’s Guide to Building a Momentum-Based Stock Selection System. His works have been highlighted on CBNC, CNN, NPR, Motley Fool, WSJ MarketWatch, CFA Institute, Institutional Investor, and CBS News. Wes is a regular contributor to Wall Street Journal, Forbes, ETF.com, and the CFA Institute.
Dr. Gray earned an MBA and a PhD in finance from the University of Chicago and graduated magna cum laude with a BS from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
