As of January 2019, the CMT Association has discontinued its membership requirement for CMT exam candidates. You may still choose to become an affiliate member before enrolling in the CMT Program, but it is no longer required. However, Affiliate Candidate (member) pricing for the exams differs from Candidate-only (nonmember) pricing.
DISCLOSURE – Affiliates who have recently joined or renewed their dues will have access to Affiliate Candidate pricing until the end of December 2019. Effective January 1, 2020, Affiliate Candidate pricing will be phased out and replaced with the Candidate fee structure as outlined below. To continue enjoying CMT Association benefits, you should renew your Affiliate membership.
To access full member benefits, Candidates can join the Association as an Affiliate member. Affiliate Candidate members will have access to all member benefits, including free access to local chapter meetings and webcasts, newsletters, and all video and publication archives.
It is recommended that Candidates make the jump to Affiliate membership after taking the CMT Level II Exam.
All CMT exam candidates, regardless of membership status, are still required to pay the one-time $250 enrollment fee upon entering the CMT Program. This fee also applies to CFA Charterholders who choose to begin testing at Level II.
Candidates who are applying for CMT Charterholder status must first hold Affiliate membership, or risk their application experiencing delays.
