The 2014 Symposium kicked off a yearlong theme of “Fusion Analysis” leading to several collaborative projects and joint events with other organizations. The Fusion concept recognizes that whether your process is predominantly fundamental, technical or quantitative, having the perspective of other disciplines leads to better performance. Highlighting some of the great partnerships and events of 2014, the CMT Association welcomes Keith Black, Ph.D., CAIA, CFA, Managing Director, Curriculum and Exams, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association. Keith Black will share his perspective on the growth of the alternative space in active management. Attendees will learn about emerging products such as liquid alternatives or the proliferation of new benchmark indexes. The session will also focus on areas where attendees can find value through a technical perspective such as managed futures trend following strategies. Alternative investments can reduce portfolio volatility, hedge inflation risk, and provide great diversification through non-correlated strategies.
