A webcast presentation originally held on March 2, 2016 by Robert Carver as part of the CMT Association’s Educational Web Series.

In this presentation, Robert Carver explains why he thinks that Systematic Trading is preferable to the discretionary ‘gut feel’ intuitive alternative. He will then cover three errors typically made by traders when designing and using systems – overfitting, overbetting (risking too much capital) and over trading (trading too often).
