Matt Lutey, PhD is a Professor of Business Administration – Finance, where he combines a deep interest in real-world investing with a commitment to student success. His research explores practical investment strategies and the use of data in financial decision-making, while his teaching focuses on giving students the tools they need to thrive in their careers.

Matt currently teaches finance courses and mentors students as they prepare for life beyond the classroom, all while continuing to pursue research that bridges theory and practice. Before his current role, he spent several years at Indiana University Northwest, where he taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in financial management, investments, international finance, and valuation. He also played a key role in launching two fully online degrees with IU Online: a BSBA in Finance and a Master’s in Strategic Finance (MSSF). His classes ranged in format from traditional 16-week sessions to hybrid and fully online courses, designed to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
