Bill Voelker

Bill Voelker is a retired practicing architect and professor who created one of the first leading architectural stock indexes. Bill was also one of the earliest adopters of heat map style charts, copyrighting a stock group matrix display that closely resembles the widely-used visualizations today. His SPX/Nikkei visual analogue accurately predicted, three years in advance, the exact top of the US stock market following the manic dot-com rise into 2000, and he repeated that call with a prediction of the 2007 top in US stocks a year in advance.

Bill has also done work on open interest indicators, an area that remains largely understudied within the discipline of technical analysis. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign, and continuing credentials from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
