Dan Valcu, CFTe, has close to 20 years of experience in trading the markets with technical analysis. His articles and studies have been published in Technical Analysis for Stocks & Commodities, Trader’s Magazine, and other periodicals in the technical analysis community. Starting his research in the spring of 2003, he was the first author to bring from Japan and promote in the West the heikin-ashi technique both as a visual instrument and a technical indicator in 2004. As a result, heikin-ashi in its visual format is a component of many technical trading platforms today. Dan develops trading strategies based on the heikin-ashi technique and applies modified candles in his trading.
His latest book, Heikin-Ashi: How to Trade Without Japanese Candlestick Patterns is written for the traders who need simple techniques to highlight the trend, reduce the noise, and spot possible reversals. In addition, this book is a guide for easily translating candlestick patterns using heikin-ashi. Dan holds a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences from the Polytechnic Institute in Bucharest and has been working all over the world as an IT consultant in Banking & Insurance. He holds a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) qualification in technical analysis. An active promoter of technical analysis, Dan wrote three other books about this subject and trading strategies. He serves on the Board of the International Federation of Technical Analysis (IFTA) and offers training, seminars, and trading camps in technical analysis and risk management.
