Mike Rickert serves as the Exam Manager for CMT Association, the global credentialing body for the Chartered Market Technician® designation. In this role, Mike oversees the construction, administration, and scoring of the CMT assessments, coordinates with vendors and subject matter experts, and collaborates with the Curriculum & Test Committee to align the organization’s mission and vision, while ensuring the next generation of CMT Charterholders represent the highest standards of professional excellence.
Mike has operated extensively in the educational assessment field, including working for two state departments of education, Pearson, and ACT, Inc. With these entities, he has managed the construction and administration of standardized assessments using item statistical analysis. He has constructed state level standards-based assessments in multiple content areas and has experience with assessments on the national scale, including the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), often called the Nation’s Report Card. These experiences have allowed him to perform all aspects of test construction from initial item writing through score reporting. Mike has an “examinee focused” approach in that his driving goal is to construct a test that is going to give the candidate the best chance to demonstrate knowledge and skills.
Mike’s education background includes bachelor’s degrees in education and physics from the University of Evansville, a Master of Education from Austin Peay State University, and an MBA from Purdue University. He lives in Clarksville, Tennessee.
