Richard T. Williams, CMT, CFA

Richard Williams is a Senior Vice President and Fundamental/Technical analyst for Jefferies & Company. He specializes in enterprise software and e-commerce infrastructure stocks. During 1999, his stock and convertible (equity substitute) recommendations returned in excess of 360%, making him the top performing software analyst based on Bloomberg data.
Prior to joining Jefferies in 1997, Mr. Williams was an institutional salesman at Kidder Peabody/Paine Webber from 1992-97 and a convertible and warrant sales trader from 1988-92.

Mr. Williams received his MBA in Finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business in 1991. He received a B.A. in Government and Computer Science from Dartmouth College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Market Technician. Mr. Williams is a member of the Association for Investment Management & Research and the Market Technicians Association. He was recently voted runner-up for the Charles Dow award, for contributions to the body of technical knowledge. He has published several articles in the MTA Journal, been a frequent Radio Wall Street guest and is regularly quoted in the foreign/domestic press and magazines.
