Todd’s background is unique among investment professionals. Originally destined for medical school, he spent much of his undergraduate career at Boston University synthesizing compounds in science labs rather than studying financial modeling and accounting. Fortunately, he wound up learning the intricacies of bond trading and portfolio management from some of the best in the industry, leaning on the objective analysis and critical thinking that were a foundation of his education. In December of 2005, the change in career path resulted in Todd’s introduction to Steve Ruvituso and Julie Ackerman.
Embracing a passion for business and finance, Todd earned his MBA from Quinnipiac University and three key industry designations: Chartered Market Technician (CMT), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP), and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Everything Todd does is a product of his desire to excel and elevate those around him – from playing golf or ice hockey, to challenging investment norms to deliver innovative experiences for our clients. Todd integrates the best of what business, science, and behavioral finance have to offer so he can continue to challenge conventional investing.
Outside of work Todd spends time with his wife, Liz, and three children. He is a self-proclaimed golf equipment fanatic and can explain nearly as much about the physics of golf club construction as he can about portfolio construction.
As a managing partner and CIO of SYKON, in addition to overseeing the daily operation of the firm, Todd focuses on the innovation, implementation, and oversight of all investment activities.
