Victor Riesco was born in Santiago, Chile in October 1981. He developed a fascination with stocks during his childhood, when he would watch his father closely as he monitored his investments in the stock quotes section of the newspaper. This interest led Riesco to study business and finance in college, where he amassed a collection of hundreds of investing and trading books.
During his self-guided studies, Riesco delved into the realm of technical analysis, which uses quantitative methods to analyze market trends and behaviors. He became captivated by this approach and decided to pursue the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation, a rigorous certification program for technical analysts.
With some knowledge under his belt, Riesco started actively trading in 2007. Over the years, he assumed the role of Lead Technical Analyst at the Chilean brokerage firm Global Trader, where he focused on the US markets. He also served as CFO of a company, where he used technical analysis principles to identify market trends and optimize business operations.
Since 2018, Riesco has focused on trading his own personal investments. He is also an active contributor to the financial literacy of Chilean investors, conducting informative workshops and advising high net worth individuals.
