Fred, who held the Certified Market Technician (CMT) designation, passed away in 2014 after a successful career with D.A. Davidson as the firm’s Chief Market Strategist. Prior to his passing, Fred provided daily, weekly and monthly commentary on the various financial markets and was a frequent speaker at client events, community public service clubs, and technical analysis trade association meetings throughout the west. In 2006, Fred was honored with the firm’s Ian B. Davidson Award for Cultural Excellence, recognizing his efforts in setting a firm-wide standard of professional excellence. In 2015, the CMT Association honored Fred with a Memorial Award for his contribution to the advancement of technical analysis.
