Jan Arps, recently retired, has more than 50 years of experience as a developer of technical tools for trading stocks, options and futures. He is also the author of A Complete Idiot’s Guide to Technical Analysis (2010).
Mr. Arps is owner and president of Arps Trading Tools, a Greensboro, North Carolina-based developer of market analysis software with clients in every state of the Union and 36 countries around the world.
Holding an MBA in Finance from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech, Mr. Arps has written over 600 different trading studies. Many of his studies are featured on the Bloomberg, TradeStation, eSignal and MultiCharts platforms. His Fear-Greed Oscillator was a winner of the TradeStation World Community Choice Award for best indicator of 2004.
