Jeff deGraaf has been one of Wall Street’s most influential macro-analysts over the last quarter-century. His process assisted clients in navigating both the up and downside as well as the inherent risks associated with this business. As a member of Institutional Investor’s Hall of Fame, Jeff has helped legitimize technical analysis by employing a disciplined process reliant on data, history, and statistics, while discounting the narrative-based approach that remains so popular on Wall Street. His dedication to the business, unquenchable passion for markets and history creates a foundation that offers the flexibility to profit and protect. Jeff is known for his pragmatism and willingness to express both bullish and bearish views.
Having spent the early part of his career at Merrill Lynch and then Lehman Brothers, where he served on the firm’s investment policy committee as a Managing Director, Jeff’s process compelled him to resign from Lehman Brothers in February of 2007 and join ISI Group as an Executive Managing Director. There, Jeff served on the firm’s management committee and headed the firm’s investment policy committee. A member of the NYSSA, MTA, and CFA, and a CMT charter holder, Jeff is a frequent contributor to CNBC and often quoted in Barron’s, Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal.
